RESOURCE RAISING & IMPACT REPORTING (Transparency builds Trust)

Since reorientation in 2014-2015, PSYDEH has taken numerous steps to be a paradigm-changer in community-led development. As I build similar initiatives in the US, these reporting innovations offer a roadmap for organizations seeking to demonstrate impact to funders, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.

Our approach

Intentionally transparent private-and public-facing reporting is return on investment, including: photos and stories, videos and film; financial audits and reports; white papers; partnership and initiative case studies; and infographics. These multi-modal reporting approaches are particularly relevant for organizations working with diverse stakeholders—from Rust Belt communities to global corporations—who need compelling evidence of social impact to justify continued investment.

PHOTOS and STORIES, VIDEOS and FILM

Modern impact reporting requires visual storytelling. Our 2020 e-book “Narratives” features 31 stories and 68 photographic portraits narrated by women partners themselves. It serves as a marketing, leadership development, and impact reporting tool. See also short and feature documentary films, animations, this 2023 six-part impact reporting video series, or the below 3-minute video ad inviting win-win partnerships with global companies.

FINANCIAL AUDITS and REPORTS

Traditional reporting mechanisms like financial audits and annual reports showcasing measurement, evaluation, learning (MEL) data remain essential. We create in-house financial audits when third-party audits are cost prohibitive. We produce snapshot articles until our full reports are finished in line with our best-in-sector annual report series in English and Spanish.  This DIY approach to financial and impact transparency is particularly valuable for nonprofits and social enterprises competing for limited citizen attention, foundation dollars and corporate ESG partnerships.

WHITE PAPERS

For small-to-medium entities seeking to demonstrate legitimacy and expand reach, we are transparent about the underlying thinking behind our work. In late-2024, I produced two white papers demonstrating why our impact work is necessary, and how PSYDEH’s work is paradigm-changing.

PARTNERSHIP AND INITIATIVE PROMO & CASE STUDIES

We promote inclusion of our story in company product promotional material and ESG reports like Adobe Express and their 2023 social impact report, while creating our own success story case studies with corporate partners. These include high-level partnership summaries like this study on 2024 Anthem Award winning work with Viasat, and detailed case studies on our work, e.g., 3M and PopSockets. These partnership models demonstrate how US organizations can structure win-win relationships with major employers—from Cleveland Clinic, Eaton and Nestle to Oswald, Progressive and Sherwin Williams—where companies achieve ESG goals while nonprofits secure sustainable funding and technical expertise.

Ohio / USA Applications

These reporting innovations, tested in Mexico’s challenging funding environment, offer Ohio and US organizations a competitive edge. Whether pitching to foundations, building partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, or competing for federal grants, multi-modal impact reporting demonstrates sophistication and transparency that funders increasingly demand. The key: authentic storytelling that centers community voices while providing the visuals and data decision-makers need to say yes.
